This week I have an interview with an actress I know you horror fans are going to love, especially The Walking Dead fans. She is one tough lady and very experienced in the horror genre, actress Amber Dawn Fox.
“Amber Dawn Fox is best known for her role on The Walking Dead as “Officer Bello” one of Dawn’s people at Grady Memorial Hospital in season 5. She appears in the film Descending as “Sabrina” (acting opposite Alex Vincent from the Child’s Play films). She has many other independent credits to her name; including the lead roles of “Evie” in The Haunting of Four Points (to be released in 2017) and “Crystal” in the vampire thriller “Edge of Darkness: Full Circle”, as well as the supporting role of “Brenda” in Tarnished Notes (based on a true story).” – IMDB.COM
Welcome Amber and thank you for honoring us with this quick interview. Let’s get this interview started.
Jonuel: Which was the most fun role you played and why?
Amber: I try to have fun in all the roles that I play. I love what I do so it is difficult to pick one role. However, the “bad guy” types are always the most fun. I find that being the villain is enjoyable because it is so unlike me. My role in The Walking Dead had me in a group of villains and I am looking forward to playing the lead villain in the upcoming film titled Realm.
Jonuel: Can you describe the difference between past directors you have worked with?
Amber: Every director is different. Working in the indie world, as well as on some bigger projects, I have worked with professional directors and others who were just getting started in the business. Some directors know exactly what they want, and give a lot of direction in between takes on how they want the scene performed. Others give actors a bit more freedom to show what they have first and only direct if necessary. I have worked with all different personality types as well. You just should be ready for anything as an actor and take direction well.
Jonuel: Do you think you could have done a past performance better? What was the performance and why could you have done it better?
Amber: I learned early on in my career that an actor never stops learning. So, yes, I do believe many of past performances could have been better. I can’t pick out a particular one or say what I would have done differently; however, I will say that I could have applied what I know now to those performances from a few years ago. I always give my best at the time, so I have no regrets on any performance that I have done. It has been fun to watch myself grow as an actress though.
Jonuel: What have you learned from your senior actors?
Amber: Whenever I am on set with an actor who has been in the industry longer than me, I probably seem like a stalker! I say that because I watch them, and I study what they do. I want to learn from the people who are successful at doing what I do. I have learned something new on every set I have been on. I have learned from my senior actors about relating to other actors, studying lines, set etiquette, and the list could go on. One of my favorite times learning from another actor was listening to Andrew Lincoln (from The Walking Dead) get into the character of Rick before we began shooting. It is a moment that will stick with me forever.
Jonuel: Can you please tell our fans about the work you are doing now?
Amber: Absolutely! I just finished up filming my part on a project titled “Edge of Darkness: Full Circle”. I play a vampire hunter named Crystal. I am set to work on a film called “The Nice Guy Syndrome” soon which will be a romantic comedy. There are also a few things in the works with my management team (one of which being Realm which I mentioned earlier). So, keep an eye on my social media for announcements!
On to unleash the Blurb, take it away Amber:
